Josh Kemp, NSCA-CSCS

Josh Kemp, NSCA-CSCS has a lifetime of involvement in sport and physical activity. Josh graduated from San Jose State in 2006 with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and an emphasis in Exercise and Fitness. He received his first nationally recognized certification through Aerobics and Fitness Association of America in 2005 while working as a personal trainer. He interned in plyometric and olympic lift training for high school aged athletes during his undergraduate studies.

Josh has worked in the field of exercise and fitness over the past six years in several different professional settings. In 2008, he was under the tutelage of Dr. Mike Nichols and staff from Tempus Clinic located in Los Gatos, California. There, he learned extensively about blood work, diagnostics, and designing programs for individuals with chronic disease. He took a break from training and in 2009 obtained his California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) and began teaching physical education in East Palo Alto, California for grades 4-8.

Over the past year, Josh pursued a second nationally recognized certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and received the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has worked with people from all ages and backgrounds including young adults with the desire to improve sport performance to individuals from older populations wanting to simply improve overall health and their quality of life. Here at SOL, Josh will continue to grow and learn more about the various treatments and therapies that will allow him to take an individual full-circle from injury and deconditioned to fully functional and thriving!

Outside of SOL, Josh keeps busy spending time with his wife and two children. He enjoys playing basketball, tennis and golf. He was a two sport athlete at the JC level playing both football and basketball and earned 1st Team All WSC honors.
